Fuel Reduction

Goats eat the "hot fuel" the spindly plants that grow under trees and allow fire to spread quickly. Unlike other animals, goats are naturally adapted to eating weeds, brush, thistles and invasive plants; evolving their own razing mechanisms for digesting and processing even the most noxious of weeds. You can see in the foreground of the photo there is an area just completed by the goats as a fire break. This is accomplished by the use of temporary electric fence. Through the use of this standard farm fencing we can control the goats grazing pattern.

Managed goat grazing service is exceptionally cost effective, particularly for large acreages and difficult terrain. It also has been proven to efficiently handle areas that are inaccessible or difficult to manage with mowers, areas where burns are inadvisable and areas where application of herbicides is not appropriate (e.g., sensitive habitats, next to waterways or vegetation  like poison oak.

Other plants goats like to eat are; Vetch, Yellow or Purple Star Thistle, Bull Thistle, French Broom, Mustard, Himalayan Blackberry, Coyote Bush, Ivy, Pine and Oak Saplings, Poison Oak, Eucalyptus Saplings, Poison Hemlock, Sage ,Ivy as well as most grasses.
